A safe house is an asylum for us and our family. In practice, however, it turns out that it does not always protect us from threats. One of the most common is burglary. So what can we do to make it feel safe?
A house is not just a roof over your head, four corners and a piece of floor. Above all, it's our loved ones who live with us. That's why it is so important to provide them with mental comfort and a sense of security. It is not easy - according to statistics, every few minutes there is an attempted burglary in Poland. One of the weak points of the house is an unsecured door. A screwdriver and less than 30 seconds are usually enough to open it. So what should be done to stop it at just an attempt?
We must remember that there is no door that is completely burglary-proof. It's only a matter of time and tools used by potential burglars. Our greatest ally is time. The longer the security measures the intruder has to overcome, the greater the chance of him being discouraged or caught in the act. And that's the point!
Before it’s too late.
The burglary resistance of a door is as high as the strength of its weakest element. Most often it is an cylinder located in the lock and allowing authorized users to unlock it usually with a key. It is the cylinder that becomes the first element of an experienced burglar's attack. Attempts to defeat it are mainly drilling, manipulation with crowbar and breaking out. That's why it has to be "armed" in such a way as to make it difficult to force it through.
The most effective protection of the door is provided by mechanical protection: discreet, invisible and - what is important - not constituting a deadly trap for the household members during possible random events (such as a window grille during a fire). One such protection is the AXA FLEX system. It is an anti-burglary fitting with a self-adjusted cylinder core protection, thanks to which it automatically adjusts to its length.
An integral part of the AXA FLEX system is a solid aluminium plate and a hardened steel cover that covers the lock and prevents it from being torn out. The cylinder core is protected against drilling by a rotating disc, and against bending by a full aluminium profile and three mounting screws. As in any effective burglar-proof fitting for exterior doors, these screws are inaccessible from the outside and placed in hardened bushings that prevent them from being cut. The hardened steel cylinder cover is masked with a decorative aluminium cap in the colour of the fitting. This innovative, patented solution is available in security class 3. It also has a fire certificate. This is confirmed by documents issued by the Building Technique Institute (Instytut Techniki Budowlanej).
It is worth to fit the entrance door with AXA Flex system fittings and at the same time not to forget about the side doors, whose burglary resistance equally affects the safety of our house.
Modern design
Appearance is also considered to be as important as safety. When deciding on an AXA FLEX fitting, we do not have to choose between an attractive design and a high level of security. It is made of solid anodized aluminium profiles (coated with an aluminium oxide layer of more than 12 microns), which are resistant to corrosion and scratches. It is available in six colour variants (F1 silver, F3 gold, F4 old gold, F6 inox, F8 black, F9 titanium) and - what is extremely important - all door accessories can be ordered in one colour (according to One Colour system which is available for whole AXA’s offer).
Take care of your safety!
